Sullivan County Casino to Be Named Resorts World Catskills

Empire Resorts Inc. has paid homage to the Catskills region by calling their new resort in the area – Resorts World Catskills.  The resort, which is planned to open in March 2018, is a $1.2 billion all-season destination complex and is situated on the old Concord Resort Hotel property in Thompson.

The 5-star/5-diamond project will have a 100 000 sq. foot casino that will house 2 150 slots, 130 games tables, a golf course and 27 000 sq. feet of entertainment space.

Recently one of Empire’s subsidiaries entered into a licensing arrangement to rebrand Montreign Resort Casino as a Resorts World property.  This is a Genting Group subsidiary. Genting and Empire have the same owner Kien Huat Realty III, a Malaysian resort development company.

The branding deal between the two subsidiaries is until year end 2027 and will allow for marketing cross-promotion and participation of users in Genting’s loyalty programmes.
