Casino Nova Scotia Halifax has confirmed information that it will include off-track betting on horse racing in its services.

Next to expanding its portfolio, the Great Canadian Gaming-owned establishment is also getting ready for a $2-million renovation planned for this summer.

The horse racing betting feature Casino Nova Scotia is planning to launch this May has been made possible through a partnership with Truro Raceway and the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition.

The OTB facility will be licensed by the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency.

Waterfront 70,000-square-feet CNS Halifax boasts 500 slot machines and 32 table games as well as restaurant and music entertainment venues. The renovation is going to add further amenities to the gaming establishment.

According to the Nova Scotia Gaming Report, the number of visitors to CNS has dropped slightly in recent years. Figures stood at over 921,000 in 2014 and then decreased to a bit more than 836,000 in 2015 and even further to 820,000 in 2016. Wagers also went down a little, from about $330 million in 2014 to $315 million in 2015.
